There is a bit of a back story to this one
We went out to dinner with some friends a few months ago. To a local restaurant. In that restaurant they have quite a few paintings my lovely talented teacher had painted. They were up for sale
There was one huge painting that was monochrome, and my friend loved it.
So I sent. Message to Judie and asked if she could paint it for my friend.
She replied. No. You can.
My friend also agreed.
So here it is
I send my friend a photo of it and told her if she didn’t like it she didn’t have to take it.
But she assured me. She loved it.
Once it’s dry and varnished I will gift it to her.
Who know. Maybe someone will see it and i get a commission lol
Either way. I happy with it. I enjoyed just using the two colours.
Maybe I’ll do another monochrome one day. We shall see.
You did a beautiful job! I know some people find it a fun challenge to paint in a limited palette.

ReplyDeleteI love it and still marvel that you had an art teacher unprepared to invest in developing your skills and artistic attributes!
ReplyDeleteThere’s such a lovely backstory to this ๐จ✨ What started as a dinner out with friends turned into a creative moment you probably didn’t expect at all.
ReplyDeleteSeeing your teacher’s artwork in the restaurant must have been inspiring enough on its own—but that one monochrome piece really stood out to your friend, and it’s wonderful how that admiration turned into something more personal and meaningful.
And I love that twist—your teacher simply saying “No. You can.” and your friend agreeing too. Sometimes creativity is passed on in the most unexpected and encouraging ways ๐
